YVES SAINT LAURENT 2004 SS Tom Ford Silk Jacket (40)
"NEVER one to miss a chance to party, Tom Ford took the prevailing Twenties spring/summer 2004 silhouette and sexed it up with huge teased perms, big Seventies sunglasses and a garish zebra print catwalk in Paris last night. Loosening up the traditional YSL lines, he played with liquid silk and satin robes of blue, white or metallic yellow, giving them petals of chiffon to float around the legs or pretty beaded straps that were hardly strong enough to hold them up. There were stunning gold sequin overlays on handkerchief-hemmed chiffon dresses and plenty of silky separates that fell in layers of gradually darkening silver for the traditional YSL siren"
For the collector this is a documented piece. Photographed on the 2004 S/S runway and published online in the Vogue.com library. Made from 100% silk with gold buttons the material flows like liquid, sports a deep v to the front, and a low slung self styled belt.
Pre-owned and in excellent condition however two of the gold buttons are missing. There is a button inside the coat that can be moved to compensate for one of the missing buttons without affecting the integrity of the garment
